To provide an independent perspective and comprehensive coverage of a major news story regarding a blue-chip company charged with causing a coronavirus outbreak in Sri Lanka, using a data-driven, fast-paced, and digital-friendly storytelling approach.

Our team conducted interviews with two key figures from the government and the opposing side, as well as a journalist who broke the story to the media.

Execution
We then used an explanatory journalism approach to present the information in a clear and concise manner. Our focus was on providing unbiased coverage of the story, with a particular emphasis on data and facts. We published the story on Facebook, which garnered over 100,000 views and prompted the company to launch its own investigation.

Results

Our coverage of the story using a data-driven, fast-paced, and digital-friendly storytelling approach was well received by the public and generated a high level of engagement on social media. Our focus on providing an independent and unbiased perspective helped to shed light on the situation and prompt the company to launch its own investigation.
